This was painted on a day that had a heavy beginning with a funeral service in the morning. Sad and reflective. Later that day, I had the urge to breathe and decompress, so I went to paint at a place close by. A little path with a ditch on one side and some trees next to it. A familiar scene with a brightly lit grass meadow peeking through the branches and leaves of the trees and an almost white sky reflecting in the water. The trees and the dried leaves that cover the soil in the foreground are heavier and more solid. Grounding and comforting. I painted what was in front of me and appreciated the moment.
