A Dutch winter landscape with snow and trees, painted plein air with thick oil paint. It was painted on a sunny afternoon, not far away from where I live. The bright sunlit patches of snow were painted with mixed-in yellow, whereas the shades were painted with blue-violet. I took the freedom to express the moment in colors.
Of course, I couldn’t let the snow of that day get away. It was a bit of a battle with the paint though, because the cold made it really stiff. And, I don’t usually bring solvents (not a fan of it), but on that cold day it would have been nice. But, I used the palette knife this time for a bit of sculpting. Not something I usually do, but it worked out. And, might do it again.
