Reflections | I’ve painted these cloud formations at the time of sunrise. For this painting I was facing the clouds with the sun in my back. It was a bit of an overcast day, and didn’t seem too interesting, but when you quietly observe it for a while, lots of subtle color shifts are to be seen. Most obvious are the subtle blue and orange hues, but there are these transient moments when subtle tones of magenta and purple arrive, and even some subtle hints of green. Often I try to paint one single snapshot of a sky, but here I combined these short lived moments in the sky in front of me over a stretch of time. Honoring the dreamlike quality that clouds bring us.
