Hare

I prefer to paint from life, but when it comes to animals, you can’t really ask them to pose for you. But I do take my own reference pictures, and this often involves tiptoeing around and also a bit of luck to catch a pose of certain shy creatures. Like this hare. It sat down nicely on an empty road, but it didn’t let me get closer than about 80 meters. So, a tiny grainy picture is what I got. I gave it a go anyway, and while busy I realized the lack of details was actually excellent. Simplicity is sometimes just what you need!
