In general I’m an early bird. Waking up somewhere between 4 and 7 o’clock. But it’s no punishment, because there’s painting and exploring to do. This time my mind was set on capturing a sunrise, for which I had a nice spot in mind. To get there I had to go through a forestry area in the twilight. Since these days there might be wolves out there, my camera was ready for an encounter. But this also comes with some adrenaline of course. Which became apparent, when in all the silence, a woodcock flew away with a lot of noise, just in front of me! Other encounters that morning included a short-eared owl, and a roe deer running through the field. Nice. You go out for a piece of sky, but there’s always bonus material…
The painting you see is of the sky that morning just after sunrise, with the view leaning towards the north.
