The water is reasonably calm, but the little bit of wind that is there gently covers the surface with wave ripples. My eyes hover over the colors that are displayed by the water surface. The top and the back of each wave reflect the colors of the sky back to me, very light and blue, while the front of the waves allow me to look into the water and see the color of the water on top of the sand and tiny tones that lie at the bottom of the sea. In some areas it creates a warm orange-like green, while closer to me it appears like a deep red because of the shade formed by the cliff I’m standing on, plus the stones in front of me are deep red, and they reflect light at that location.
The rock formations in front of me are much lighter than most of their surroundings, with warm yellow patches of lichen. The yellow can be found reflected back on the water waves as well. My eyes travel to the water in the distance. I can’t separate the individual waves anymore; what I see is an average of the bright sky reflections and the color of the water, which is darker. The color this creates appears a deep blue-grey, perhaps a bit violet. My eyes travel back to the waves close by, and I can see some of the violet there as well. In the meantime, the sun is rising a bit more, and the colors all undergo a subtle shift. Changing everything.
