4:58 – Yesterday we arrived in Brinkamåla, where we have a small cabin for two nights on a hill in the forest. We were here in 2024 as well, and back then I painted trees on rock plateaus covered with reindeer lichen. Now everything already has a bit more of a soft, warm tint to it. It is noticeable that there has been a lot of drought. Because of that, it is a bit like autumn has already started a little. Now there are mainly pine trees around our cabin, and there are many more needles on the ground than last time.
6:47 – Yesterday, after arriving, I started a small painting of the reindeer lichen and heather-covered rocks on which our cabin stands. I continued with that this morning during sunrise. I worked with the limited palette I wrote about yesterday. And it worked just as I hoped! What is also really cool about this place is that there are lots of ravens flying around and constantly sitting there “talking” in the background.
Later that day, around 17:00, the sun created a beautiful light. So, I went for a new round.
But when I was finishing, the sunlight was gone.
